Why would you make a donation?

Donations Jar with coins and notes

I always err on the side of undercharging for my services. I know that this can sometimes cause embarrassment if a client feels that I should have charged for something when I haven’t. So, this page is a way out of that problem.

There may be several reasons you wish to make a voluntary donation for something I have provided. These include:

  • I might have helped you out with a computer issue by telephone and not charged anything. My normal rate for such assistance is £1 per minute, but it is easy for these calls to develop from a free general chat to specific assistance.
  • Sometimes I send a client an item such as a printer cable or USB flash drive that I have not included on any invoice. Sometimes I give something from my bag when visiting.
  • You might read my fortnightly blog posts (or subscribe to my “bITes” Whatsapp messages) and want to make a contribution. I spend 2-3 hours each fortnight creating these blog posts. They are free for anyone to read – occasionally, or on regular basis. I make no income from these blog posts. My website does not carry advertising or any other incoming-generating content.

If you would like to make a donation then please click on the jar above. PayPal processes the payment (so it is completely secure) but you do not need a PayPal account to use this service – a debit or credit card will work just as well.

Or, cheques still welcome!

Thank you!
